Castle Church, known by the locals as Schlosskirche, is a late period Gothic church founded in the mid-1100s and originally used as an abbey for Benedictine monks. The Chemnitz Germany Schlossberg Museum contains historical displays and information to give you a full history of the area. The Roter Turm (Red Tower) is one of the foundations of Chemnitz during the pre-war years. The lower portion of Roter Turm dates back to the twelfth century. You can linger in the gardens and explore the various sculptures that grace the grounds.
